Doctoral thesis preparation workshop (II)

Participation in a workshop on the presentation and defence of the Doctoral Thesis: design of didactic presentations to express in a rigorous and enjoyable way the results obtained in their research, training on how to speak in public, academic protocol of the public act of Doctoral Thesis defence and defence protocol in the case of thesis reading with international mention.

After the workshop, a task will be carried out, which consists of making a presentation, summarising the basic contents of the doctoral thesis project in three minutes. Each student must videotape themselves explaining their project and can use a Power point presentation as a support.

Doctoral students may participate in this activity from the second year onwards in the programme in the case of full-time students, and from the third year onwards in the case of part-time students.

El objetivo de esta actividad es formar al doctorando en el diseño de presentaciones didácticas para plasmar de forma rigurosa y amena los resultados obtenidos en su investigación. Por otra parte, también se informará al doctorando del protocolo académico del acto de defensa pública de Tesis Doctoral.

The person responsible for this activity will be in charge of:

  • Providing all the necessary information so that the student can carry out the activity normally.

The supervisor must:

  • Guide the development of the activity by the student within the framework of the monitoring of the completion of his/her doctoral thesis.

The tutor must:

  • Guide the development of the activity by the student, within the framework of their training process and the monitoring of the completion of their Doctoral Thesis; and confirm their passing, both in the final annual report, and in the report for the thesis deposit.

The doctoral student must:

  • Carry out the task and upload it to the Virtual Campus.
  • Register in Laurea Academic the certificate accrediting the completion of this training activity, which will be issued by the International Doctoral School of the UCAM (EIDUCAM) and sent to the student's email address.

This activity is not recognisable by the Academic Committee.
