Research Seminars

Participation in research seminars organized by the different research groups, in which the results obtained in the different lines of research linked to the program are debated. Doctoral students will be able to participate in this activity from their admission to the program. Analysis and synthesis exercises will be programmed for each seminar that students will develop in groups, or individually, in order to reinforce their critical capacity and written expression.

The objective of this activity is for the doctoral student to know the research that is being carried out within the program to which he belongs in order to establish collaborations between different lines of the program. On the other hand, these types of activities allow training the doctoral student through the development of applied skills when assuming the different roles within the seminar.

Person Responsible or teaching and and Assessment

Dra. María José Maciá Andreu

  • Responsible teacher

The person responsible for this activity will be in charge of:

  • Providing all the necessary information, updating it regularly, so that the student can carry out the activity normally.
  • The correction of the assignments of each seminar in order to grade them as PASS/FAIL.

The director must:

  • To guide the doctoral student in the choice of those seminars that may be most useful for the development of their doctoral thesis and academic training, always respecting the interests of the doctoral student.

The tutor must:

  • To control the development of the activity by the student, corroborating that the necessary tasks are completed.
  • To validate the activity in Laurea when appropriate.

The doctoral student must:

  • Once the seminar has been visualised, the student must submit a written report on the virtual campus linked to the task set for the research seminar (see instructions in the specific task for each research seminar on the virtual campus).
  • Once the seminar has been successfully completed and a PASS mark obtained, the UCAM International Doctoral School (EIDUCAM) will send a certificate of completion to the student's email address. This certificate must be uploaded to Laurea Academic, in the corresponding task, for subsequent validation by the tutor.

This activity is compulsory for all doctoral students and can be carried out as soon as they are admitted to the doctoral programme.

  • In this case, the PhD student must register for each seminar until 30 hours have been completed for the whole period. Each seminar lasts 3 hours On line and submission of work via the Virtual Campus.
  • Students must register at the beginning of the course for those activities (in this case, seminars) that they plan to carry out during the academic year.

Recognition of this activity may be requested; the approval will be subordinated to the decision of the Academic Committee of the Doctoral Programme.
