Workshop on Doctoral Thesis Preparation
Participation in a workshop on writing the thesis report and presenting and defending the results. Doctoral students may participate in this activity from the moment they are admitted to the program. The estimated time commitment for students will be 5 hours over 4 years for full-time students and 7 years for part-time students.
Person Responsible or teaching and and Assessment
Doctoral students will have access, through the virtual campus IT platform, to teaching materials and related tasks on the university's specific rules for writing a thesis, as well as for preparing educational presentations and public speaking. The aim of this activity is for doctoral students to become familiar with the institutional style and formal requirements that must be applied when preparing their thesis, as well as to learn how to prepare educational presentations to convey the results of their research in a rigorous yet engaging manner. In addition to the thesis submission procedure, they will learn about the academic protocol for the public defense.
Students will have access to teaching materials and assignments via the virtual campus IT platform. Students must complete the assignments set in order to pass the activity on the virtual campus, where they will be assessed by the person responsible for the activity. This activity can be carried out at any time during the doctoral program, at the student's discretion. However, it is recommended that it be completed during the final year.
Description of the procedure: Complete the activity on the virtual campus before June 30 of each year. Upload the work requested by the professor to the assignment corresponding to the activity on the virtual campus. The professor will evaluate it and grade it as PASS or FAIL. The person responsible for the activity will correct the requested work and issue a certificate of completion for the activity in mid-July. The student must upload this certificate to the corresponding activity in LAUREA ACADEMIC.
Assessment report: The tutor will be responsible for validating in LAUREA ACADEMIC whether or not the activity has been passed.
The activity may be recognized if you hold a Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA), Research Proficiency, or Doctorate degree. To do so, you must upload the corresponding certificates to LAUREA ACADEMIC, where your tutor will evaluate and validate them if applicable.
