Structure

In order to achieve its objectives, the Vice-Chancellor's Office for Research has been organised around two basic services: the Research and Transfer Service (SIT) and the International Doctoral School.

Research and Transfer Service (SIT)

The Research and Transfer Service's fundamental mission is to promote and foster research, facilitating the work of our researchers and transferring the knowledge generated to businesses and society.

From this Service, we promote and manage the annual operational action programs of UCAM's own Research Promotion Plan, launched in 1999, the first plan of its kind implemented at a university in the Region of Murcia. The objective of this plan is to consolidate and strengthen research at our University, thereby integrating it into the national and international scientific landscape.

Similarly, we foster the excellence of our researchers through specialized training and by promoting their national and international mobility. Furthermore, we contribute to the training of new researchers by offering introductory research grants so that our students in their final years can begin to engage with science, and predoctoral research grants and contracts for doctoral dissertations.

We also provide our researchers with the necessary scientific and technical infrastructure—equipment, IT resources, and scientific literature—to effectively carry out their research activities. We facilitate and manage all research equipment and materials, making them available to researchers and ensuring their proper use and optimal performance.

Similarly, within the Research Information System (SIT), we identify, inform, and advise our researchers on external funding opportunities for R&D&I, and subsequently manage and prepare the financial reports for research projects funded by these calls for proposals.

Within the SIT is the Technology Transfer Office (OTRI), whose fundamental objective is to foster the relationship between the University, Society, and Industry, promoting the transfer of knowledge and technology generated at UCAM to society and the productive sector. The OTRI promotes research collaboration between our research groups and companies or public organizations, and manages established research agreements and contracts.

Similarly, we disseminate the scientific achievements of our researchers and promote interest in R&D&I through science outreach activities.

International Doctoral School

The International Doctoral School aims to promote, disseminate, and manage the Official Doctoral Programs offered by the University, enabling our students to specialize in a scientific, technical, or artistic field. Advanced training in research techniques includes the preparation and presentation of the Doctoral Thesis, all of which are necessary to obtain the PhD degree.

Therefore, the school manages and ensures the quality of doctoral programs, encouraging the completion of doctoral theses in areas of strategic importance to the University.

These two services, acting as management bodies, contribute to the successful implementation of the research, development, and innovation policies and strategic plans established by the University's Governing Council.
