Procedure

  1. The requesting researcher must download the following documents from the UCAM website: Annex I: Request for Report
    • Annex II: Informed Consent
    • Annex III: Revocation of Informed Consent
    • Annex V: Information Sheet
    • Research Project Proposal
    • Additional Documentation (Must be submitted depending on the type of Research Project):
      • Certificate of Scientific Work Coding (UCAM Research Project without funding - to be requested from the Vice-Rectorate for Research).
      • Contracts or Agreements with the relevant companies or universities for the respective Research Projects (Research Project with funding).
      • Questionnaires or Surveys for the Research Project (It is recommended to use the LimeSurvey Web Platform) - (The document header must state "The data collected in this survey or questionnaire will be used exclusively for the project") - (Research Project with questionnaires or surveys for participants).
      • A "Favorable Report or Opinion" from the Ethics Committee of the corresponding Hospital or Center and/or "Official Authorization" if there is no Ethics Committee where the Research Project will be carried out (Research Project to be carried out at a Center other than UCAM).
      • Research Projects that include the study of a "Nutritional Supplement" must attach their corresponding "Technical Data Sheet" (composition, properties, product safety parameters, etc.) - (Research Project).
      • Other relevant documents (Research Project).
  2. Send the duly completed documentation to the Ethics Committee Secretariat via email: comite_etica@ucam.edu. The documentation must be sent to the Ethics Committee by the Principal Investigator (PI) of the Research Project to be submitted for evaluation.
  3. Once the documentation is received, the Ethics Committee Secretariat will send an email acknowledging receipt to the Principal Investigator (PI) and informing them of the project evaluation date.
  4. Following the Ethics Committee meeting, the Secretariat will email the Principal Investigator (PI) the project evaluation decision. If any corrections are required, the email will also outline the procedure to follow.

Important Information

  • The deadline for submitting documentation to the Ethics Committee (EC) is fifteen days prior to the date of the EC meeting indicated in the Meeting Calendar.
  • The EC Secretariat will not accept any project that is not accompanied by complete, properly completed, and signed documentation.
  • If the Research Project is "Prospective," the documents to be submitted are:
    • Annex I (Request for Report)
    • Annex II (Informed Consent)
    • Annex III (Revocation of Informed Consent)
    • Annex V (Information Sheet)
    • Research Project Summary
    • Additional Documentation
  • If the Research Project is "Retrospective," the documents to be submitted are:
    • Annex I (Request for Report),
    • Confidentiality Agreement indicating compliance with current Data Protection Law,
    • Research Project Summary
    • Additional Documentation
