Citations received by a work can be found in the following resources. Sometimes it is recommended to combine searches in several of them to determine the true impact of the publications.

The lack of standardization of researchers' names and their centers in scientific publications and in the main bibliographic databases is a well-known fact, which reduces the visibility of authors and their centers at the national and international level and makes it difficult to retrieve publications and the citations they receive.

This manual contains a series of recommendations to help researchers choose their signature and that of their workplace, leading to greater standardization.

Regarding institutional signatures, the lack of standardization of researchers' names and their centers in scientific publications and in the main bibliographic databases is a well-known fact, which reduces the visibility of authors and their centers at the national and international level and makes it difficult to retrieve publications and the citations they receive.

In the case of UCAM, the following format should be followed:

  • Chair or Central Unit (if applicable) – Department – Faculty – UCAM Catholic University of Murcia – Spain
  • In the case of any university institution (Institute, Center, etc.) affiliated with UCAM, the format should be: Institution – UCAM Catholic University of Murcia – Spain

The Catholic University of San Antonio of Murcia (UCAM) believes that the recognition and evaluation of the research activity of its tenured teaching and research staff should be carried out using procedures and criteria comparable to those used for evaluating the research activity of its tenured teaching and research staff. To this end, a collaboration agreement has been established with the National Commission for the Evaluation of Research Activity (CNEAI), and, starting with the next public call for applications, the research record of UCAM's tenured faculty will be evaluated by its Advisory Committees.

Prior to this public call for applications (open annually in December), and in order to ensure the success of the requested evaluations, our University is launching this separate call to pre-select the applications of professors who meet the necessary requirements to obtain positive evaluations from the CNEAI.

The purpose of this call for applications is to facilitate and ensure the appropriate participation of our faculty in the evaluation and recognition process for their research activity, which will be carried out by the National Commission for the Evaluation of Research Activity (CNEAI), as stipulated in the Order of December 2, 1994 (Annex I). Similarly, a pre-selection will be made of UCAM faculty members with a realistic chance of achieving a positive evaluation for at least one period of research activity.
